An Unexpected Surprise......... Moisture Mapper?
 
 
I will never forget the first dehumidifier I ever owned; it was a Dri-Eaz 50. I remember the "50" was a small refrigerant dehumidifier that you had to put on a stand and then drain the condensed water into a bucket, long gone are those days. Now we look for newer and better equipment that would save us time and enable us to improve our profit margin. As the years have gone by, our drying equipment has improved, to include lower amp air movers, low grain dehumidifiers, water claws to name a few. However, the one thing that has stayed consistent, is dealing with the Insurance Adjuster. The number one issue that I have had since I started my career in the Restorative Drying field (28 years ago) is constantly battling with insurance adjusters to get paid past the three day dry mark. It seemed that every job we had completed the adjuster would want their "hero pay" - a large discount.
 
 
 
After all of these years I have finally found a product that is neither a new air mover nor a dehumidifier, but rather a Web Based Process Managment System. This software system is called "Moisture Mapper," and since 2009 we have been using this software system to document all of our drying jobs; and it has made our company more profits than any other product! Initially it seemed to be taking extra time to input all of the data into Moisture Mapper and I wondered if it was worth it. After about the third month of using the on-line program, I realized the Insurance Adjusters hadn't been calling me as much to refute my invoices, and if they did call, the price they wanted to discount off was minimal compared to years gone by.
 
 
In the year and half since I have used Moisture Mapper I decided to look my at the numbers to see how much money I had saved (if any) using this system. I was shocked to learn that I had saved three percent of my gross which is a considerable amount of money! To think, I was giving that much money away to the insurance companies.
 
This product has made my company more money at the end of the year than any other piece of restorative drying equipment I have ever purchased. Moisture Mapper to me, is what my parents brought me up to believe .... "it's not how much money you make but rather how much you save".
